graPrograms: GrassRoots Athletics Track Club currently offers four programs to meet your personal goals. From introductory conditioning to elite competitive training, GrassRoots Athletics will provide you with quality athletic instruction in an age and ability appropriate program.

 


[learn_more caption=”General or Cross Sport Conditioning Program”] gen_condThe General or Cross Sport Conditioning Program is for athletes who would like to cross train with Cross Country, Track n’ Field and Road Racing.  Great for those who want to supplement training to their primary sport or just want to be part of the GrassRoots Athletics movement.  This program is designed to offer a fun, safe and progressive way to learn about the sport and get in shape. Of course you are invited to support the team and even compete in the meets/races to get a taste of the competition!  General training schedule TBA. Monthly membership dues does not include USATF $20.00 membership fee.

Training schedule is sport specific. Monthly membership dues does not include USATF $20.00 membership fee & uniform.

[button link=”http://grassrootsathletics.org/registration/” type=”icon” icon=”paper”]Join GRA[/button][/learn_more] [learn_more caption=”Elite Training Program”]elite The elite training program is the advanced competitive training program.  It is an in-depth individualized coaching focused on the total athlete approach.  The vision is to identify, correct or enhance the athletes efforts to reach their competitive potential.  This program is primarily for highly motivated athletes seeking to reach an advanced level due to the significant commitment of time, energy and motivation. Optimization of the athletes physiology, nutrition and psychology are culminating factors that develop maximum progress with the holistic component of the event(s). Monthly membership dues does not include USATF $20.00 membership fee & uniform.

[button link=”http://grassrootsathletics.org/registration/” type=”icon” icon=”paper”]Join GRA[/button] [/learn_more] [learn_more caption=”Online Coaching Program”]online_coaching We also provide a online coaching program that allows individuals that live out of the area or prefer to train around their personal schedule to receive the time and attention they prefer.  There are two options available: Consultation– The online consultation program provides the basic tools to get started in your training.  A personalized training plan is provided with weekly email support. Personal Coaching– The personal coaching program is one-on-one individualized coaching.  A personalized training plan is developed, monitored and adjusted if required.  This subscription also includes a weekly phone consultation and unlimited email correspondence. Monthly membership fee does not include USATF $20.00 membership fee & uniform.

Divisions: There are currently four divisions that an athlete can compete in and that GrassRoots Athletics supports. Part of the competitive spirit is to assemble a team that competes at the national championships to showcase their talents and earn national bragging rights.

These age divisions provide young athletes the opportunity to compete with other athletes of similar ability. The age divisions for competition year 2012 are as follows:     Age Division       

  • 8 and under *
  • 9-10
  • 11-12
  • 13-14
  • 15-16
  • 17-18**

* Per USATF Rule 300.1 (c) “Athletes must be at least seven (7) years of age on December 31 of the current year to compete at the Youth Athletics or Junior Olympic National Championships.

** Athletes who are still 18 through the final day of the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships are eligible to compete in the Young Men’s and Young Women’s divisions through that meet. This extended eligibility does not apply to cross country events.

 

[/tab] [tab] Open Athlete Open events include sports in – cross country, , race walking, road running, and track & field. Competition is open to men ages 16-39, and women ages 14-39. [/tab]  [tab] Masters Athlete Masters programs offer a variety of competitive and fitness opportunities in cross country, road running, and track & field. Age divisions begin at age 30 for track & field and race walking – age 40 for road running. [/tab] [tab] Elite Athlete Elite athletes contend for honors in championships across all of our sport’s disciplines. In track and field, athletes qualify for elite status by placing in the top 24-32 nationally for their event. In other sports, athletes must place high in national championships & be Team USA selections for int’l competition. [/tab] [/tabcontent] [/tabs]
